ABOUT ME

IN BRIEF

I have been a professional cartographer for 17 years, specialising in world atlas editorial. In 2000 I moved to Cumbria to start my own cartographic editorial and production business, and in 2006 I started a masters degree in landscape architecture at Edinburgh College of Art.

Before becoming self-employed, I worked as a cartographic editor for Philip's (on a large number of school and reference atlases) before moving on to senior editorial positions with De Agostini-Rand McNally in 1996 and AND Cartographic Publishers in 1998.

As a freelance cartographer I have had a good deal of success editing atlases and producing maps for a variety of publishers and organisations, including Usborne Publishing, Philip's, Reader's Digest, Cambridge University, Pindar Graphics and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, amongst others. Some of my maps have also been used to illustrate novels, and some have appeard in DVDs.

I use professional publishing software, including Freehand, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as specialist mapping and technical software, including AutoCad and SketchUp.
